On December 31st, 2023, Cesar Echeverria Sr., 84, peacefully transitioned from this world to the gates of heaven to be with his Lord. He passed away at home surrounded by his family.
Born on January 12th, 1939 in Tela, Honduras to Silvia Jeffries and Ruben Echeverria. Cesar was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend.
He was a man defined by his honor, politeness, and gentle speech, whose happiest moments were spent surrounded by his beloved family within the comfort of his home. He found immense pleasure in watching the beautiful game, holding the sport dear to his heart. A devout believer and dedicated parishioner of the Catholic church, Cesar's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He continued to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion at home until his very last days, a testament to his unyielding devotion to God.
Cesar is preceded in death by his mother, Silvia Jeffries; father, Ruben Echeverria; sisters, Matilde Dabdu and Maria Elena Echeverria; niece, Ivonne Richardson; nephew, Lenin Berrios; mother-in-law, Antonia Estrada; and father-in-law, Jose Rosa Estrada.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Echeverria, with whom he shared a lifetime of

He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Echeverria, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. His legacy lives on through his three devoted children: Yadira Echeverria (Rick), Ana Gill (Tom), and Cesar Echeverria Jr. (Elke). He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Thomas Gill III (Sarah), Alexis Phieler (Eric), Jenessa Echeverria, and Jorryn Echeverria. Additionally, he was a proud “Papa” to two great-granddaughters, Matilda Phieler and Lily Gill, whom brightened his days with laughter and love. Cesar is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Ruiz and Eva Medina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital for Cancer Patients, reflecting Cesar's lifelong commitment to helping others.
A funeral mass to honor and celebrate Cesar's life will be held on a future date at his home parish of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where family and friends will come together to pay their respects, share fond memories, and find solace in each other's company.

Nacido el 12 de enero de 1939 en Tela, Honduras, hijo de Silvia Jeffries y Rubén Echeverría. César fue un devoto esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo, hermano, hijo, tío y amigo. Era un hombre definido por su honor, cortesía y gentileza, cuyos momentos más felices los pasaba rodeado de su amada familia en la comodidad de su hogar. Siguió siendo un pilar de calma y serenidad a través de cualquiera de las tormentas y trastornos de la vida. El amor de César por el fútbol, una pasión siempre presente, era para él motivo de alegría y emoción. Encontró un inmenso placer al ver este hermoso juego, y lo tenía en gran estima. Un creyente devoto y fiel feligrés de la iglesia católica, la fe de César fue la piedra angular de su vida.
